Artworks is a family-owned and run Arts and Crafts business which has been established in Beeston, Nottingham since 2005, although there has been an Arts and Crafts business on the Chilwell Road site for many years now. The business occupies a prime location on the corner of Imperial Road and is situated in the heart of a fantastic range of other independent businesses. Artworks offers a great selection of art.

The highly considered forms that I make are simple and precisely thrown but with spontaneous making marks. Complex surfaces develop from firing the work with wood, flame and ash painting the work. I use my own blend of high temperature firing clays which are chosen to promote flashing and glaze effects in the kiln. Sustainability is important, I use found materials to make glazes and waste wood as fuel.

My name is Karoliina Nurmela, also known as Landale which is a pen name I have been using since 1996. Art is wonderful and I love working with it.
